Mac workstation

referenceobservedEvidence reviewed 2026-10-06

The Mac is the primary interactive workstation. Its existing development environment remains independent of Shipyard. This repository does not replace Mac dotfiles, application credentials or project toolchains.

Local repositories live under /Users/akshat/code. Orca is installed at /Applications/Orca.app. Its bundled CLI is /Applications/Orca.app/Contents/Resources/bin/orca; orca is not currently on the inspected shell PATH. Use the absolute path in recovery instructions.

Normal ssh shipyard selects the existing OpenSSH configuration. Tailscale supplies private connectivity; this is not Tailscale SSH and does not require router port forwarding. Never replace the existing SSH config with a generated file.

localhost in a Mac browser is the Mac. localhost inside the shared Chromium viewer is Shipyard. Orca’s browser tab must use Browsing through shipyard for the Linux noVNC endpoint. A separate Mac browser needs the documented SSH forward.

This repository manages its own documentation and curated Shipyard script sources. Mac project directories, agent sign-ins, browser profiles and Orca’s application database are observed or externally managed. Export narrow Orca settings through its supported CLI; do not copy its full private database.

Repository paths, installed Orca and local Node 22.16.0 were observed on 6 October. This is not a complete Mac hardware, process, credential or integration inventory. The documentation build uses an isolated Node 22.22.3 runtime; application defaults are unchanged.
